You left out too many steps, and nat sound is so much better than that stupid brain-numbing music. Could never understand why UA-camrs feel the need to add music to every goddamned video they make. Pretty much a waste of time.
Wow this is incredible 👏
I was wanting to take a look at your website for a possible commission, except its no longer functioning.
Beautiful... well done.
I built a smaller version 20 years ago. As a scientist, I understood the need to keep errors to an absolute minimum. I couldn’t do it. Nearly every single one of my drawers had to be customized to fit its space. As far as I can tell, you are not human. Congratulations on constructing an epic piece of furniture.
Nice looking build. The only thing that sticks out to me are the legs. They seem “blocky” to me, but that may have been a client ask.
What bandsaw is that ?
Thanks for sharing, It helped me lot with a project I intend to do.
Not sure how many times I have watched this video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity, it is a great help and motivation.
So cool how creative ppl are, wonderful how much box like that would cost
Hope you’re okay man. Haven’t uploaded in a year.
Doing well, thanks man. Schedule has changed a bit and I haven’t had much shop time or time to record anything. Hoping to maybe get a video or two done later this year. We’ll see!
@@parillaworks good man. Glad you’re doing well. I get that. I work and come home don’t have much time for anything else. Looking forward to some videos
Absolutely excellent video. Art from Ohio
What does this method buy you over just using a round-over bit?
There’s a few reasons. Large roundover bits can be expensive and possibly single-use if only needed once. Also, this method allows you to do any diameter you want in any increment. You can sneak up on the perfect fit if your dowel needs to fit into a hole/mortise. A roundover bit may give you a nice dowel but it might not match a hole you drill.
05:15 I'll mount it upside down like this It looks it wears crown Cool kinda gothic victorian shit
Hi John, I have a question about the Brusso hinge mortise template. It calls for a 3/4 OD guide bushing but the only one I can find is too tall. The Brusso instructions say that you need to shorten it to just less than 1/8 inch. Did you have to do this or were you able to locate one somewhere that would work or is there another solution? Thank you for your time and I really appreciate all of your videos that have helped me further my knowledge of woodworking. Greg Harvey
Hi Greg. Yes I did have to do that. I think I had a set with a few 3/4” OD bushings. I used a hacksaw to trim one down to the correct length. And that one is now my designated Brusso bushing.
i want to make a table like this for card storage. I'm wondering what was the dimensions of the walls and drawers?
Sorry for the delay. The drawers are 4” x 4” outer dimension. The material for the drawers was either 3/8” or 1/2”, I can’t quite remember now.
@parillaworks what's thw thickness of the outer walls 2 inches?
@@PROM3TH3US1991 The outer casework is 3/4” thick. The vertical and horizontal dividers are 1/2” thick.
@parillaworks beautiful I have some 2x4 here I can use for the outer case and the Inner case. Perfect thank you
Love them! I would like to add these type of stacked rounded edge drawers to my old heirloom sewing table, and I was looking to see if I could find plans for them. Do you intend to publish them?
I’m sorry, I don’t have any plans published for this project.
@@parillaworks Thanks for your reply. It's certainly a beautiful and inspiring project.
What did you use in the router wall to make the drive screw to spin on ? great video
Stick the ff.
I'm having a really hard time getting a clean dowel this way. I find the threaded rod assembly tends to wobble a bit. I even remade the end plates using smaller holes, using a 11/32 bit so a 3/8 rod would be snug and it still wobbles. Any thoughts on how to correct this?
spin the shaft slow (very low rpm)
Thankful am I
Do you have plans for this ? Cut lists?
Your the ONLY person I've seen on YT that addresses the problem of the drawers not being flush with the main body, because the drawers have two kerfs cut when the front and back are cut off. Looks like you glued shims to the back of the drawer then planed them until they were just the right thickness to make the drawer flush in front?
Yup that’s how I typically did it when I started. You can also use small, adhesive-backed felt pads. They’re easy to apply and you are able to slice a layer or two off if needed. I learned this from Roy’s Box on Instagram/youtube.
I dont think as of 2024 this available for sale?
I think they run out of stock on Amazon from time to time. It seems to be available direct from Dowelmax.
I wants it. ❤
It sure is a shame to have all them t-tracks hidden under that holy mdf! 😉👍
Too bad you don't list things like the router bit, where to buy. I can't find one like that.
Love the concept of these. Can't deny the results of all the jigs, except the one drawer pull that's crooked, lol. The way the dado joints come together is mint. Did you use a cnc to design the dado jig?
У тебя станок с чпу и ты сверлишь отверстия под магниты и выборку ручным станком? Зачем тогда тебе чпу?
Magnifique 🎉 bel ouvrage , Bravo 🍾 🎉
5:03 did anyone else instantly think it was gonna play the Luigi's Mansion theme
This is amazing. I want this for my husband. You don’t sell plans?? Or you sell these??
Magnets are not needed here at all. As the door slightly tilts forward, this is not a bug but a feature.
I bought one of these 3 years ago. The joints are so precise and accurate. I love it. It is my go to jointing system.
Awesome brother ❤❤ the only thing I'll say and it's not a criticism. As a musician I can't help but wish the box was deeper so the acoustics would ring the notes out with a natural reverb effect. That's all and totally a preference 🎉. Super awesome and thanks for the tip!!!!
Best video I’ve seen on the dowelmax. Purchasing now!
Dowelmax makes the best dowel jig, you however Sir made the best dowelmax video, many thanks!
very clever, can you share the link on the music mechanism I cannot find it on web.
Great video, thank you for your step by step instructions explained and demonstrated clearly!!!!
I'm always looking for new bandsaw projects and I love this one. Awesome design!
🤣 2:35 I'm taking a screenshot. I use these Makita boxes too. Im going to copy your layout. Is that the 1/4" version of the 45 degree miter adapter on lower left? 🙂 16:16 yes it is.
Five years later. If you were to be building something similar in your head for your first grandchild… What would you do differently? I was thinking of the rocker rails, too.
I’m actually in the process of making something similar. But I’m cutting all the plugs on my lathe.
What Wood is that ?
Good job. I enjoyed watching.
You could cut an extra piece of your stock and sandwich it in the jig instead of using your dado to cut that notch. That should give you a perfect fit.
Greetings John, wanted to let you know that I have watched you make these boxes, and also have two of your templates that I used. Outstanding results for me because of your tutorial, you are a gifted craftsman.
Can you share the information on the latch ? Do you have a website where it can be bought ?
The latch is from Brusso Hardware. They have a few sizes. There is an optional routing template that is very handy.
